An EBSD Study on Crystallization of CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 (CMAS) Glass

In this study, heat treatment was applied to the CMAS parent glass produced using brucite with calcite, kaolin, ulexite natural raw materials and commercial MgF2, considering DTA measurements. The crystallization behaviour growth directions of crystals were investigated. XRD SEM investigations revealed that anorthite formed during treatment, ceramic obtained in CAS system by surface crystallization. According EBSD measurements, {100} faces just below have a relatively higher ratio lying parallel than their edges ({110}) corners ({111}). These grew orienting same direction inner region remaining glass. However, some exhibited random orientation. tendency crystals' planes lie less regions those on surface.
